Prize-winning Passive House New Apartments, Munich (GER, 2018)
The jury found the collective submission of Collective Architecture and Fresh-r the most effective way of ventilating with heat recovery, where comfort is assured at the lowest price, without wasting energy . “Two years ago, Fresh-r won the second prize, in the category for energy retrofits. Then it was a novelty, with a very narrow yet powerful heat exchanger that fits in the outer wall. Now it won the first prize, in the category new residential building. Because we think this should be the norm for layered construction,” Dr. Wolfgang Feist said in handing over the prize.

Hi there I live in New Zealand and am looking at ventilation systems that work intermittently as we are designing a highly hygroscopic house that requires less ventilation. The Fresh-r that is a decentralised unit (without additional pipes): it says in the technical literature that it does not have a heat exchanger, though in the general description I read it that it has a heat exchanger. Does it have one or not? Is the decentralised unit without pipes also ph approved? What is the cost of each unit if I do decide to buy a few? Would you be interested in talking about a New Zealand partnership (am an energy consultant for homes)? Thank you Michael
